Mama ‘San

What a lovely atmosphere this restaurant exudes, from the moment we walked in the door. It seemed a little casual but with a certain quality about it. They call themselves a ‘Kitchen Lounge Bar! It is a large floor space with a high roof, giving it the feel of heaps of room.

We were greeted by the Maitre d’ and seated in one of the last tables available. It is a popular place by the number of guests. I went with some girlfriends, so after ordering some drinks and cocktails, we decided that each member of the party was to choose one selection from each of the 6 sections on the menu (entrée, stir fry, curry, chicken, beef, salads and sides).

There is a mix of Chinese, Indonesian, Indian, Malay, Singaporean, Thai, Cambodian and Vietnamese foods on the delicious sounding menu. Everything sounded very appetising, and our choices did not disappoint. We all shared the following dishes; lamb ribs, pad Thai, duck red curry, barramundi, eggplant, and Thai beef salad. There was not a lot left on the plates when we were finished, a testament to how good the food was. My favourite was probably the duck curry, and the lamb ribs!
